NOAC, Redeemer book win in FilSino Class A caging

NOAC registered a came from behind victory over Yarda 8 Restobar, 97-84 as Redeemer held down debuting Choi, 98-94 in the ongoing Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Invitational Cup Class A division at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym.

The undefeated NOAC (2-0) led the opening quarter, 30-18 as Glen Dormido and Neil Espina combined for 18 points while Oso Rojas made 6 points for Yarda 8.

Yarda 8 cut the deficit to 44-40 as JR Fernandez scored 9 points and Dennis Pomerada Jr. added 6 points while John Morales dropped 9 points NOAC.

Efforts paid off for Yarda 8 in the third canto when they took the driver’s seat, 70-67 going into the playoff period with a 30-point production behind the scoring from Jed Soriano with 14 points and Jehru Ayagan connecting 3 triples.

However, NOAC came back with a solid fourth-quarter performance as they outscored Yarda 8 also with 30 points as Dormido scored 10 points and Tommy Andren nailed 3 triples.

Dormido paced NOAC with 25 points as Morales added 15 points, Andren connected with 14points and Espina with 8 points.

On the other hand, Fernandez and Soriano spearheaded Yarda 8 finished with 17 points apiece as Rojas drilled 11 points, Pomerada made 10 points and Jeff Maningo had 8 points.

In the other match, Redeemer played to a 49-all standoff at the half as Jinggoy Bautista and Peter John Deles scored 8 points apiece with Joemarie Bayhon and Ryan Maningo adding 6 points each. Bonbon Cadagat, meanwhile, dropped 3 triples for 11 points and Jhornel Laborte adding 10 points for Choi

Deles led Redeemer with 27 points as Verayo added 15 points, Bayhon made 14 points, and Bambam Oquindo produced 13 points.

Meanwhile, Cadagat fired 7 triples for 25 points for Choi as Richard Dairo shot 15 points, Laborte added 14 points and Justine Baldonado nailed 13 points.
