The Vipers pushed their unbeaten streak to three games as they defeated the Bulldogs, 89-72, in the Elite Basketball Club Cebu City Season 17 at the Visayan Glass gym last Sunday, February 16, 2020.

It was a close game at the start with the Vipers going in front, 19-18, at the end of the first. However, they dominated the next two periods and outscored the Bulldogs, 44-28, to build a sizable lead and take home the victory.

Cesafi’s slam dunk king, Miguel Gastador, almost had a triple-double for the Vipers with 22 points, nine rebounds and eight assists while his brother, Jolo, added 10. Another former Cesafi player, Mark Tenebroso, also scored 10 markers.

John Rodrigo paced the Bulldogs with 25 markers, which dropped to 2-2 for the season.

Meanwhile, the Wolves routed the Kois, 95-77, to even their record up at 2-2. Former University of Southern Philippines Foundation all star Roy Quiachon played one fine ballgame as he tallied outstanding numbers of 28 points, seven rebounds and six assists to go with three steals.

He also got help from the likes of Daboy del Rosario who had 13 and Pablo Cabrera who added 12.

The Kois got 21 points from Chito Solis, 20 from Harmsway Molina and 19 from RJ Acha but it was not enough to keep them from dropping to 0-4. (JNP)
