Strong immune system best protection vs Covid-19

A TOP health official said a patient who will die of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) will have to be buried within 24 hours just like victims of meningococcemia and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Sars).

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said that the Covid-19 is contagious, thus, the need to wrap the body and bury it immediately to prevent the spread of the virus.

Miravite said there is still no cure for Covid-19, but the scientists are exerting best effort to find the treatment for the disease, which started in Wuhan City, Hubei province, China.

Miravite said the best way to fight the virus is to boost the immune system.

She said it will depend on the guidelines and recommendations of the Department of Health (DOH) when asked if there is a need to cremate the remains of people infected with Covid-19.

She said the local hospitals have physicians who are capable of handling Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, Miravite said all the 24 persons under monitoring (PUM) for Covid-19 have been cleared of the disease.

She said the latest two others have also been declared as negative when the 14 days quarantine period had also lapsed. (SunStar Zamboanga)
