Zonta Club of Cebu 1 tied up with some of Cebu’s premier and largest universities and colleges to run its advocacy projects on anti-Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). Zonta’s partners in this education campaign are the state-run Cebu Normal University (CNU), the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) and Benedicto College. The advocacy projects include producing plays, running oratorical contests and distributing flyers on the issue of Violence Against Women and Children.
Z Club of Childlink H.S. launches #There’sJoyinLife Campaign
ONE of the programs initiated by Zonta Club of Cebu 2’s Z Club of Childlink High School is the #There’sJoyinLife campaign with the theme of Say No to Teenage Pregnancy.
On October 11, 2019, all the Z club members participated in presenting the campaign to the Guadalupe High School with a population of over 8000 middle school students. Students were taught that having positive social connections and healthy adolescent relationships is the way to prevent teenage pregnancies.
The club seeks to extend their campaign to teenage mothers by teaching simple livelihood programs and providing early positive interaction for their young children through reading activities and positive play activities.
