P20,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Barangay Bata

AN ESTIMATED P20,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 3 at Purok Sawmil 3, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City Thursday evening, February 20.

The operation led to the arrest of Christian Edca, 29, of Barangay Bata.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Edca was arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 led by Lieutenant Colonel Levy Pangue after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 6:05 p.m.

Police recovered from Edca’s possession four sachets of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, and P200 cash.

Pico said the suspect was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

He said the suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a man was injured after he was stabbed at Camingawan, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Regie Batayin.

Investigation showed the victim was inside the barracks of Baciwa when John Rey Francisco attacked him using a knife.

The victim sustained multiple wounds and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital while the suspect was arrested by operatives of Police Station 4.
