Worldbuilding with LEGO

LEGO bricks are a wonderful thing. Though each set may come with an instruction manual, the possibilities of coming up with something using the same set are almost limitless.

I would save up and buy myself some Lego sets every now and then. Playing with it has become a stress reliever for me. What I love most about playing with my Lego pieces is worldbuilding.

Worldbuilding allows me to create a universe for my projects. It allows me to come up with a full concept project and not merely a structure. I put stories behind my projects like its history, who it is named after, and how it plays in the community that I have made. However, I am quite bad at coming up with names to the point that they are not creative.

At present, I am working in Lake City. This city is named after the three large lakes in the city -- Moon Lake, Great Blue, and Lake Emerald. The city is located in an archipelago in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean. It is a four-hour flight from Tokyo, Japan.

The projects I made surrounding this world are dependent on the pieces I have on hand and had to be creative when I want to make something a bit grand like a university, train station, airport, or a township.

My wild imagination has allowed me to develop a full-service airline called Northern Pacific Airlines. However, I still could not make a decent plane as they look more like flying buses.

Most of the projects are cafes as they were the easiest for me to do.

Many would jokingly tell me that I am too old for these toys. I would laugh it off and tell them that you are never too old for Lego. Playing with Lego can be addictive once you have built the world you are in. As a world builder, you want to make sure the people who live in it are having a comfortable life.
