Y-Speak: Love, Abigail

IN THE busy streets of life, every individual has their own equal share of struggles we know nothing about. Everyone tries to live each passing day as if it’s okay. For we all know, the world does not stop for you, it continues to rotate no matter what happens.

When we were young, we were taught to be strong. Being strong means carrying the world, but at the same time you have to be able to smile and get through the day. The strength was deemed to overlook boundaries, but, people only see the facade and cannot look through beyond the fake smiles. And in this generation that we are in, we tend to romanticize this feeling to the point that we drown in depression, which may lead to suicide.

What I want to point out are several tips to help this generation, setting a reminder that you need to get out of the cave, for there is always a light beyond. You just need to take a deep breath, allow the air to enter your lungs, open your eyes, and see the beauty all around you. Smile, because there’s so much more reason in life that gives you reason to adore reality, the nature, the people, and the beauty of life. Laugh and be positive, make every single tick of the clock worth it.

Don’t pressure yourself, be carefree and live your life to the fullest, because that good end result and perfect picture can only be achieved when you start accepting and be satisfied of what life has given you. Put yourself on the real world and never ponder of that perfect picture that only exists in your head. Trust me, it’s always in front of you, you just have to realize it. (Abigail Joyce C. Cahiwat)
