THE Kiboy’s Computer Solutions (KCS) came alive in the second canto to take down the ARQ Builders-KSB Glass, 88-80, and grab the solo lead in the standings of the Mayor Edgardo C. Labella 1st Charter Cup Basketball Tournament at the Cebu City Sports Institute on Friday night, Feb. 21, 2020.

Down by as much as 13 points, KCS turned things around in the third canto which they started with a 12-2 run to take a 52-46 lead. University of the Visayas standouts Ted Saga and Gabriel Cometa connived with Ian Ortega, Edrian Lao and Vincent Minguito on that telling run that put KCS in front for good.

A three-pointer by Saga and a free-throw by Lao kept KCS ahead by 11, 80-69, with 4:32 to go in the game but ARQ-KSB fought back to within six, 75-81, time down to 3:14. But KCS answered with a jumper by Melvin Butohan, an alley-oop bucket by Joshua dela Cerna and a triple by Harold Cincoflores to put them ahead by 13, 88-75, and seal the win.

Minguito led KCS with 14 points and eight rebounds while Saga also had 14 markers to go with five boards, three assists and a remarkable six steals. (JNP)
