2 cebuanos keep training despite paragames postponement

TWO Cebuano para-triathletes who have been selected as part of the PHL triathlon team in the 10th Asean Para Games have kept their motivations high despite the event’s indefinite postponement.

Alex Niño Silverio and Arnold Balais have continued to do their daily training routines even with the uncertainty of the Asean Para Games pushing through amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak.

“My training is continuous. I bike, swim and run,” said Balais, who’s also the team captain of the Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc. (Pads) Dragonboat Team, which won the Para-Dragon boat world championship last year.

“Hopefully this coronavirus outbreak will now end,” he added. Silverio of Go For Gold Team is hoping the same as he’s eager to represent the country in a big event with such magnitude as the Asean Para Games. (RSC)
