Villar to ground break P273-M project in Central Luzon

PUBLIC Works Secretary Mark Villar is set to ground break a P273-million convergence project inside Fort Ramon Magsaysay in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija this weekend.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials are expected to join Villar in the groundbreaking the construction of the 7th Infantry Division (7ID) headquarters and various military facilities funded under the Department of National Defense–Department of Public Works and Highways (DND-DPWH) Convergence Program, also known as the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (Tikas).

According to DPWH-Central Luzon Director Roseller Tolentino, the Tikas Program was initiated for the mutual benefit of the two agencies wherein the DND can mount projects with the DPWH, while the DND shall safeguard DPWH projects in conflict areas.

The DPWH, in a statement, said that the convergence projects are bannered by the construction of a P65 million hangar at the Philippine Army Aviation Regiment.

The DPWH posted in its Facebook page that a P42-million 7ID headquarters building, P40-million transient facility at the Light Reaction Regiment, and enlisted personnel barracks at the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) and two-storey administration building amounting to P20-million each will also be constructed.

Tolentino also said that the Nueva Ecija second district office has also allocated P85-million to concretize the military installation’s 7.261-kilometer road from the Light Reaction Regiment/Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) camps leading to the Molave Complex.
