20 LGUs in Pampanga named GFH passers

GOOD Financial Housekeeping (GFH) seems to be a common trait among all local government units (LGUs) in Pampanga as two of its cities and 18 municipalities, as well as the Provincial Government, were hailed for their passing the standards of the said criteria.

Based on the list released by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Central Luzon, the cities of San Fernando and Mabalacat are among the LGUs that were named GFH passers for the year 2019.

All of its municipalities namely Apalit, Arayat, Bacolor, Candaba, Floridablanca, Guagua, Lubao, San Simon, Sta. Ana, Macabebe, Magalang, Masantol, Mexico, Minalin, Porac, San Luis, Sta. Rita, and Sto. Tomas were also included in the list of passers.

According to the DILG, GFH assesses how well the LGU complies with set accounting and auditing standards, rules and regulations.

It also elevates the practice of governance that values transparency, accountability, participation and performance.

Among the criteria used are good planning, sound fiscal management, transparency and accountability, and valuing of performance information.
