Man suffers broken legs after jump from flyover

A MAN attempted to kill himself by jumping off the flyover in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City Sunday evening February 23.

Police identified the victim as Stevan Sabanal, 38, of Talisay City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Levy Pangue, officer-in-charge of Police Station 3, said that Sabanal, believed to be under the influence of illegal drugs, tried to end his life at about 7:20 p.m.

“He went to the flyover and jumped off,” he said.

The victim suffered broken bones on his legs and hips. He was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) and he is now in stable condition.

Pangue said the victim refused to talk to them and is believed to be out of his mind.

He said they are now coordinating with the family of the victim.

Meanwhile, two persons were injured after they were stabbed at Zone 1, Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City Sunday evening.

The victims were identified as Jeffrey Montejo and Ariel Guanzon, of Bacolod City.

Investigation showed the victims were standing in the area when the suspect attacked them using a bladed weapon at 8:25 p.m.

The victims sustained wounds and were rushed to the CLMMRH while the suspect fled.

Police Station 10 is still conducting a follow-up operation to arrest the suspect. (MAP)
