THE Rams came roaring back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth period to defeat the Kois, 79-77, in the Elite Basketball Club Cebu City Season 17 at the Visayan Glass gym on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020.

Jeslar Larumbe did it all for the Rams as he notched a triple -double of 28 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists to help his team propel their win-loss record to 4-1. The Kois, on the other hand, continued their downward spiral this season, falling to 0-5.

The Kois appeared to have things well in hand as they surged in front, 66-54, thanks to a 23-11 burst in the third. However, the Rams suddenly came alive in the fourth and responded with their own 25-11 surge during that stretch to hack out the victory.

Jonathan Adlawan scored 16 points, John Capuyan chipped in 12 while Jerome Soque fired in 11 for the Rams.

Jose Acha led the Kois, with 30 points while James Cabilino added 21.

Meanwhile, the reigning champions Eagles dealt the Vipers their first loss of the season, 67-58. Both teams now own identical 3-1 records.

The Vipers got off to a fast start and led, 21-11. However, they sputtered in the second and third cantos which was the opening the Eagles needed to grab the lead, 44-31, and never look back.

Ian Ortega and Randy dela Pisa led the Eagles with 13 points apiece, while Rex Tuazon added 12. (JNP)
