DCPO: ‘Di pataka og post sa Facebook’

ACCIDENTAL firing ang migula sa imbestigasyon sa kapulisan sa Davao City Police Office labot sa kamatayon ni Police Staff Sergeant (PSSg) Renante Dapa Mercado, 38-anyos, ug residente sa Purok 7, Trading Boulevard, Barangay 37-D, Davao City.

Si Mercado napalgang naglunang na sa dugo diin naggunit kini sa iyang armas samtang mao ang duty desk officer alas 6 sa gabii niadtong Martes, Pebrero 25, sa San Pedro Police Station.

Dead on arrival sa Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) si Mercado gumikan sa nahiagoman niini nga samad sa iyang ulo.

Gilayong mipagula og pamahayag ang DCPO pinaagi ni acting director nga si Colonel Kirby John Kraft kinsa mipaabot sa pahasubo ngadto sa pamilya ni Mercado.

“On behalf of the men and women of Davao City Police, allow me to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Police Staff Sergeant Renante Dapa Mercado who was found lifeless and with gunshot wound due to accidental firing,” pamahayag ni Kraft.

Gihangyo sab ni Kraft ang publiko nga dili magpataka og post sa social media sa sayop nga impormasyon labot sa kamatayon ni Mercado gumikan unang migula nga istorya sa Facebook nga naghikog, suma pa si Mercado, apan di kini tinuod.

“I would like to ask for people’s understanding and compassion to stop spreading ‘false and malicious messages’ to social media out of respect to the fallen officer and his grieving family,” sumpay ni Kraft.

Tungod sa hitabo, si Kraft mipagula og direktiba nga mopahigayon og pagbansay labot Gun Safety and Responsible Gun Ownership sa tanang ginsakpan sa DCPO.

“I have directed the Chief, Administrative and Resource Management Unit to conduct a Refresher Course on Gun Safety and Responsible Gun Ownership Seminar to selected personnel who will re-echo their learnings in their respective police station. This will serve as a review on how to handle their service firearm properly to avoid accident on self or other persons,” ni Kraft.

Kasamtangang gihaya na sa iyang pamilya ang namatay nga pulis.
