Nofa blanks Davao, 1-0 to enter PFF U15 finals

THE Negros Occidental Football Association (Nofa) stunned Davao South FA, 1-nil to enter the finals of the Philippine Football Federation U15 Friday, February 28, at the PFF Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

Despite the tough semi-final game between the pride of Visayas and Mindanao as midfielder Mark Gabriel Cantos struck the match’s lone goal in the 78th minute.

NOFA will face the National Capital Region Football Association in the finals after the former demolished Mt. Apo Regional Football Association, 4-0.

For NOFA president Ricky Yanson Jr., the performance of the Negrense booters is results of the ongoing Dynamic Football League program in the province.

Meanwhile, NOFA head coach Ronald Allan Treyes said that the boys did their best in the match despite having short preparation. “But because of their diligence, perseverance, and sacrifices, their performance paid off that led to the victory,” he added.

Completing the NOFA squad are Bryon Christopher Abela, James Araez, Kent John Bacolocos, Dave Aikeen Celis, Jon Gabriel Condada, Bryle Cusay, Bench Andrew Damandaman, Jan Reven Diola, Marco Gabriel Ditching, Dominic Austin Dreyfus, Jolix Estilo, Leoven Van Gatungay, Robert Joshua Indiape, Matthew Gabriel Jochico, Paul Justine Juen, Frank Matthew Labayen, John Lloyd Liguaton, Syreal Magbanua, Jose Victor Manalo, Japeth Mermida, Corban Miraflor, Ryan Monares, Rohdrerick Rodriguez and Jon Adrei Roldan.

Helping Treyes are assistant coach Ian Combate, goalkeeper coach John Robert Mendoza, and trainers Leo Ernest Linda and Arnold Jimena.
