POLICE arrested a 48-year-old jobless man Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020 for molesting a three-year-old girl in Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.
Marlito “Pokoy” Pardillo was arrested after the girl’s father (name withheld) called barangay tanods for assistance after learning what had happened to his daughter.
Pardo Police Station 7 chief, P/Maj. John Kareen Escober said an investigation conducted by the PNP Women and Children’s Protection Division showed Pardillo inserted his fingers in the girl’s privates while her father was outside the house.
Escober said the act still constituted rape and proper charges will be filed against Pardillo.
Police are also looking into reports that Pardillo was booked for similar charges at the nearby Mambaling Police Station.
The victim’s father told police that Pardillo, a neighbor, entered their house while he was just outside on Wednesday afternoon.
But he later noticed his daughter crying with bloodstains on her undergarments.
The girl also complained of pain in her private part and named Pardillo as the one who caused her the pain.
Pardillo is now detained at the Pardo Police Station. (BBT / MVG)
