MATI, Davao Oriental -- Davao del Sur emerged champion in elementary boys and girls divisions at the close of the 2010 Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet athletics competition at Mati Centennial Sports Complex here late Friday afternoon.
Davao del Sur elementary boys team harvested a total of 11 golds, five silvers and two bronzes to earn the ranking 30 points while Davao City, which bagged four golds, five silvers and seven bronzes, got the runner-up points of 20.
Davao del Norte placed third with 10 points following a 0-4-3 medal count.
In elementary girls, Davao del Sur copped eight golds, one silver and seven bronzes for 30 points followed by Davao (7-6-4) City with 20 points and Digos City (2-1-2) with 10 points.
The Davao City tracksters, however, captured the secondary boys title having clinched five golds, four silvers and four bronzes while Davao del Sur took three golds, seven silvers and three bronzes and Digos salvaged one gold, six silvers and four bronzes.
Digos topped the secondary girls division with seven golds, six silvers and four bronzes while Davao City came second with a 5-2-6 gold-silver-bronze slate and Davao del Sur was third with 3-3-2. (MLSA)
