4 MisOr beauties to compete in 2020 national pageants

FOUR lovely ladies will be representing Misamis Oriental in the national pageant this year.

Maita Marie Parrel, one of the top 5 Miss Teen Philippines 2020 Mindanao; Miss Kuyamis 2020 Isobel June Teaño; Miss Cagayan de Oro 2015 3rd runner up Caroline Joy Veronilla; and Miss Cagayan de Oro 2019 Cinderella Faye Obeñita will be strutting the national stage to get the crown for Miss Teen Philippines 2020, Miss Philippines Earth, Miss Universe Philippines, and Binibining Pilipinas, respectively.

Parrel is a 17-year-old student of Lourdes College who was crowned as one of the top 5 Miss Teen Philippines 2020 Mindanao last November 24, 2019 together with Sophia Stave, Eryn Michelle Tapungot, Elaisa Taala, and Rio Patricia Legazpi.

Her advocacy is to address cyber bullying which, according to Parrel, is now rampant and can cause depression that all too often, leads to suicide.

Teaño, a college student taking up Tourism Management, is a resident from the municipality of Opol who was crowned as Miss Kuyamis 2020 on January 9.

One of her future plans is to work with the local government unit and the Provincial Government to create livelihood programs, job opportunities and health care programs for solo parents.

Teaño also won the Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown awards in the Miss Kuyamis pageant.

Veronilla, a graduate of Xavier University, is currently a volunteer of the World Vision Philippines, a global humanitarian organization devoted to improving the lives of families and communities to overcome poverty.

Crowned as Miss Cagayan de Oro 3rd runner up in 2015, this Balingasag beauty also won the Best in Swimsuit attire.

Veronilla’s inspiration, she said, are the children who have cancer.

Obeñita, a resident in Cagayan de Oro City and working at the tourism department of the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, was crowned as the Miss Cagayan de Oro 2019 last August 24.

During the said pageant, she bagged several corporate and special awards such as Miss Personality, Best Gown Design and Best in Evening Gown.

An experienced beauty in the world of pageantry, Cindy advocated for cervical cancer warriors and survivors in the last year’s pageant and is also pushing for education.

The coronation for Miss Teen Philippines, Miss Philippines Earth and Miss Universe Philippines are slated to happen in May while the Binibining Pilipinas is on April 26.
