ABOITIZLAND Football Cup champions Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC), Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and Sheba FC hope to fish a few titles when they join the two-day Sinulog Football Cup organized by the Central Visayas Football Association in two venues on Feb. 29, 2020.
DBTC, which won the Under 8, Boys 12 and Boys 14 title in the recently-concluded AboitizLand Cup, will face rival Giuseppe, Singapore School and Springdale in the youngest division of the Sinulog Cup. DBTC, which will field four teams in the Under 7, defeated Giuseppe for the AboitizLand Cup title. DBTC also won the Boys 12 and Boys 14 title in the AFC and is hoping to add the Sinulog Cup crowns in its collection.
In the Boys 12 (Under 13 in the Sinulog Cup), it will be facing other title favorites Ateneo, Sheba FC, Springdale and Sherilin FC in its quest for the crown, while in the Boys 14 (Under 15), it will clash with the other title favorites Abellana National School (ANS), Ateneo, Springdale and Cebu United FC, which finished second in the Aboitiz Cup.
On the other hand, Sheba FC, which won the AboitizLand Girls 12 title, will have to deal with top teams University of San Carlos, Tayud FC, Bright Academy and St. Theresa’s College in the Under 15 division, while Girls 18 powerhouse Ateneo hopes to snag its third straight title. Ateneo defeated USC in both the AboitizLand and Cesafi finals and will only meet USC in the Sinulog Cup in the knockout stage as the two teams are in different brackets. (PR)
