AFP beefs up force in Negros

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines beefed up their force in Negros with the deployment of additional troops.

The 303rd Infantry Brigade received additional troops particularly the 14th Civil Military Operations Battalion of Philippine Army onboard BRP Tausug-Philippine Navy Vessel at BREDCO Port, Bacolod City on February 26.

The 14th CMO Battalion are the latest additional troops deployed in Negros Island to beef up the Armed Forces of the Philippines to address the Communist Terrorists Group.

The immediate deployment of CMO troops in Negros Island is to reinforce and sustain the conduct of Community Support Program teams in priority areas of 303rd Brigade and further complement the RCSPs that have are being launch Negros wide.

The said unit was previously based in Luzon and is placed under the Operational Control of 303rd Infantry Brigade.

Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Brigade Commander, in his statement said that, “We welcome the additional troops deployed in Negros to boost our efforts in our campaign against the Communist NPAs and to support the implementation of EO70. He further said that it will further elevate the capability of the Brigade to support the different RCSPs within the Brigade AOR and strengthen our partnership with the LGUs and other Agencies”.

“The Philippine Army is sincere in our mandate to support the whole-of-nation approach to end the local communist armed conflict in Negros Island. With the support of the local government units, other agencies and the communities, we will achieved a peaceful province free from the influence of Communist NPA,” Pasaporte added. (PR)
