Masbad: Quick Hits 46

LET’S kick off March with a quick roundup of notables from around the tech and gadget world.

Tot

As 9to5Mac described it, it’s "a set of digital Post-it Notes or a whiteboard on your Apple devices.” It’s one note taking app that keeps everything simple and without much fuss. It’s all about the content of the note you’re making and not how it actually looks. This is a good thing so you can keep your focus on what really matters.

Tot is available for free on the Mac App Store. But the iOS version is $20.

Take note that this is just for Apple devices. There aren’t any versions for the others operating systems.

Bad TikTok

In a recent article from Digital Trends, it’s reported there that Reddit’s CEO basically called out TikTok and called it as “fundamentally parasitic.” And in the same statement, described TikTok as a spyware.

I’m not saying that this is the case unilaterally but it’s something to look into as well. If you’re concerned with your data privacy, this can be a serious issue. Anything that can suspiciously be a bridge or a way for your personal data to be siphoned off to somewhere you did not consent to, is, if you ask me, worth looking into.

Moment is gone

Well, at least, its Pro Camera on the Google Play Store. 9to5Google reported recently that Moment is discontinuing its Pro Camera app because of a fragmented Android operating system. The openness of Android and how vast the selection there is for Android based phones has become the reason. I’d recommend that you hit on that link and read through the entire article. Fascinating things are in store for you and you’d probably be shocked as to how complicated things can be when building an app for the Android operating system.
