MELRO Brokerage routed the Gwapitos, 86-71, to snatch their first win in the Southside Basketball League Season 5 Dirtbusters Cleaning Services Cup at the Sacred Heart Center on Sunday, March 1, 2020.
Talented guard Dunn Labata sliced through the defense of the Gwapitos en route to piling up 21 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals as Melro evened their win-loss record up at 1-1 in the Right Wing division.
Meanwhile, Camacho’s Seafood and Supply notched their first win of the tournament with an 80-57 bashing of Gugma. Ja Vidal led the way for Camacho’s with 16 points and three assists.
Over on the Left Wing division, V-Malunggay Juice Drink and the Nepocenter Thurblazers continued their respective winning streaks after registering dominant wins over the weekend.
V-Malunggay Juice Drink crushed the Warlords, 101-50, with William Vega spearheading the team’s balanced attack with 13 points.
The Thurblazers edged out the Hustle City, 69-65, thanks to the efforts of former Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats forward Heroche Molero, who had 14 points and 10 rebounds. (JNP)
