Lizada: CLOY

TO A lot of viewers you know what those letters are. The hit series from Korea that mesmerized a lot of people including me. And I watched the finale ‘til the late or early hours and I still do not know why I did that. For me to finish a series is a big thing because I have cast aside shows I thought were not worth my time. One noteworthy example is Downtown Abbey.

I actually liked the show until this one episode just literally made me stop watching. One incident and I decided it was too dumb and that was that. Of course there were a lot of American shows that I stopped midway because there was no reason to waste my time. I hate predictability and stupidity in shows.

Of course, I have watched several Korean shows as well. I liked Descendants of the Sun and my old time favorite Jewel in the Palace. I really liked the latter and it was no mean feat because there were a lot of episodes, forty plus I believe. There were others too but they were just okay. Well, until CLOY came along.

What did I like most about it? I think it was the ending that made me a believer. (No, there will be no spoilers here.) If you watched it that was the ending I wanted, it was not what I expected but that made it even more fun. For those who still have not watched, you are in for a ride. Just watch it.

That show had a lot of hope and that my takeaway from it. You should always have hope because with hope comes possibility and with possibility comes strength. Going against all odds has always been a theme in our lives. David and Goliath. Elves battling giants. The lone wolf against the marauders. Refusing to give up because there are certain things worth fighting for.

We all have our mountains because we all have our dreams. Our dreams are the things that define us, that shape us. What is your dream? What is your mountain? They are as different as ourselves. Our roads are as distinct as the visions that we have. And the question really is, do we have the hope and the strength to fight for what we believe in. Because really our dreams shape us, form us to what we should be or want to be.

CLOY showed us that power. As long as we believe, we will overcome.
