3 suspects fall in NegOcc drug busts

THREE persons were arrested in separate drug busts in Negros Occidental, Tuesday, March 3.

Elements of Victorias City Police Station conducted a drug bust on March 3 which resulted to the arrest of Eljohn Lauresta, 31, of Barangay 12 and Joenar Dela Cruz, 23, of resident of Barangay 14, both of the said city.

Recovered from the suspects possession were ten heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with estimated market value of P30,000, a cellphone, disposable lighter, coin purse, an improvised revolver with five live ammunition of 5.56, P300 marked money and two motorcycles.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Victorias City Police Office and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile and estimated P50,000, worth of suspected shabu were also seized in a buy-bust operation conducted in Hope Village, Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay City by the Talisay City Police on the same day.

The operation led to the arrest of Winchelle Joy Quiatchon, 37, from Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay City.

Police recovered from the suspect’s possession 18 sachets of suspected shabu, 2 disposable lighters, an improvised stick, coin purse, proceeds money worth P720, and P500 marked money.

Recovered items were brought to PNP Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr, Bacolod City which will be subject for examination.

Suspect was detained at the custodial facility of Talisay CPS after a medical check-up at Talisay City Health Office for proper disposition.
