THE Zamboanga City Government tendered on Thursday, March 5, a special ceremony recognizing the service and dedication of employees who retired between July to December 2019.
Dubbed “Despedida de Agradecimiento para los Retirados de Govierno”, the event was spearheaded by city caretaker and Vice Mayor Rommel Agan who encouraged them to enjoy new opportunities to include travels during retirement.
The program organized by the City Human Resources Management Officer (CHRMO) headed by Jane Bascar provided the retirees the opportunity to share their experiences and spend time with the Vice Mayor and their department heads.
Of the total 17, five failed to show up due to circumstances beyond their control.
One of those feted was former Assistant City Social Welfare and Development Officer (CSWDO) Dr. Leonida Bayan.
Except for those who held supervisory positions, each retiree received P5,000 courtesy of the Zamboanga City Government Employees Association (ZCGEA) under the leadership of Arturo Cabidog, Jr. of the City Legal Office.
All of them received a plaque of recognition, some tokens and gifts.
Door prizes were raffled off adding spice to the occasion.
Agan raffled off two round trip tickets to Cebu and Clark, Pampanga which were won by two retirees from the City Assessor and Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (OCENR), respectively. (SunStar Zamboanga)
