CEO driver posing as engineer to extort money nabbed

A DRIVER of the Davao City Engineers Office (CEO) was arrested by authorities in an entrapment operation and is facing multiple charges after he allegedly introduced himself as a city engineer to extort money and process the building occupancy permit of the clients.

Based on the report, the suspect was identified as Roberto Dalagan Limboy, 45, married, of Crossing Bayabas Toril.

Limboy was arrested at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at San Pedro St., Davao City in front of the Unitop Shopping Mall.

Initially, Police Lieutenant Colonel Noel Cagas Asumen, chief of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Intel Branch, formed a team led by Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Elbert Matilac to validate the reported illegal activities of the suspect.

The surveillance was developed after their office received information on February 21, from a complainant named Engr. Cirinia Grace Catubig, an Accounting City Building Official of the City Engineers according to a police blotter.

She sought the help of the police office against Limboy for allegedly posing as an engineer and extorting money from their clients in processing the Building Occupancy permit.

“After validation, the suspect was arrested after receiving the documents, marked money, one piece of genuine P500,” the report said.

Recovered from the suspect was one unit Samsung Duos mobile phone, documents, marked and boodle money.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the DCPO for the appropriate filing of charges.

The suspect will be facing charges for robbery extortion, usurpation of authority and violation of anti-graft and corrupt practices. (JCR)
