THE University of the Visayas Green Lancers knows the odds are against them in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) National Collegiate Championship Final Four as they take on the UAAP and reigning PCCL champions Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles on Saturday, March 7, 2020.

Tip-off is at 2 p.m. with UV earning the right to take on the mighty Blue Eagles after it won the Visayas-Mindanao regional title earlier this week with a 76-67 victory over Southwestern University-Phinma.

Veteran forward Jancork “The Bulldozer” Cabahug is well aware of what awaits them in Manila but he remains upbeat and excited to compete against what is widely considered the very best collegiate basketball team in the entire country.

“I am excited to compete kay daghan mi ma-experience and ma kat-onan,” said Cabahug, a wide-bodied yet versatile forward who is considered one of the pillars of this Green Lancers squad.

“Ateneo is playing high level basketball kay grabe ila system but follow lang jud mi sa ipabuhat ni coach Gary niya amo mental toughness dapat naa kay sa ila team daghan kaayu big names,” added Cabahug, referring to the likes of current Gilas pool member, Dwight Ramos, Gian Mamuyac, William Navarro, SJ Belangel, Tyler Tio and African big man Angelo Kouame

Cabahug said as tough as the odds are, they will be banking on their “experience and teamwork” to somehow pull off the upset against the very same team that beat them in the finals last year. (JNP)
