Probe continues for 2 dumped cadavers

POLICE investigation continues for the two discovered cadavers in Benguet’s capital town La Trinidad.

On Monday, March 2, the cadaver found along Barangay on Beckel on February 27 was identified As Jeoffrey Guevarra, 60, from Mindoro and currently a resident of Baguio City by his foster child.

Lordane Molina went to La Trinidad Municipal Police Station and inquired on the found cadavers in Barangay Beckel and claimed the found cadaver as his foster parent.

Major Cleff Vencio, La Trinidad Municipal Police Station chief, said Molina was able to present documents pertaining to the identity of the victim.

To recall, the cadaver was laying down on the ground and without his clothes on when the body was discovered.

Meanwhile, the cadaver found on the same day in Barangay Puguis was identified as Johnny Rabang, 55, a taxi driver, married and resident of Baguio City.

Rabang was further identified as a high-value target based on police records.

Vencio added based on autopsy earlier made, the victim sustained two gunshot wounds in his head and lower body while autopsy for Guevara is ongoing.

The police chief said perpetrators in both incidents have yet to be identified.

Last year, six bodies in the advanced stage of decomposition and two skeletal bodies along Marcos Highway in Sitio Poyopoy, Barangay Taloy Sur, Tuba, Benguet on October 15 and 16 and the five unidentified bodies were laid to rest in Sitio Bomosgao, Poblacion, Tuba.

Three out of the eight retrieved bodies were identified as Alfredo Domilos Lamenta Jr. also known as Junie Batang-e from Tadian, Mt. Province, Fahad Manan Macalanggan, 28, native of Marawi City and Kent Charlie Licyayo, 22, native of Ifugao both residents of Baguio City.

Tuba Municipal Police Station reveals the cadavers were found in an estimated 30 meter deep ravine.
