PDEA seizes P340,000 worth of drugs

AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region (PDEA)-Central Luzon confiscated some P340,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride known as “shabu” during a drug bust in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija on Thursday, March 5.

PDEA-Central Luzon regional director Lyndon Aspacio said the illegal drugs were seized from the suspects identified as Desserie Alvara, 25, amd Rhoms Bendick Pelagio, 32, both residents of Barangay Diversion Road in the said municipality.

The anti-illegal drug operation was a product of two weeks casing and surveillance of PDEA Nueva Ecija Provincial Office.

“Our agents were able to secure a drug deal with the suspects and agreed to meet inside a hotel just within their residence for the sale of the illegal substances,” Aspacio said.

Aside from the seized shabu that weighed 50 grams, police were also able to recover assorted drug paraphernalia and the drug bust money used in the operation.

The confiscated illegal substances were submitted to PDEA-Central Luzon laboratory service for quantitative and qualitative examination.

The suspects are now detained at the PDEA jail facility in Diosdado Macapagal Government Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002 is being readied for filing in court.
