Yellow alerts up over Visayas

Negros Occidental is among the areas declared under ‘Yellow Warning’ relative to a low pressure area that brought rain since yesterday.

Per update from the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division, other areas under Yellow warning includes Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu (Southern Cebu), Siquijor and Negros Oriental.

Zephard Caelian, head of the PDMPD warned that flooding is possible in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas.

This information is based on current radar trends and all available meteorological data, Caelian said.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions, monitor the weather condition and watch for the next advisory.
