NOTHING’S quite like a Cebuano feast. Think of the unlimited seafood, Pinoy-style barbecue, lechon, kinilaw and seaweed salad. If that’s not enough, wait till you have dessert: Puto, bibingka, cassava cake etc.

If you’re up to a whole lot of eating, this latest addition to Cebu’s dining scene may be worth your while.

Seafood Paradise, on the second level of SM Seaside City Cebu, created a buzz online with its unique food park-themed buffet and sumptuous Cebuano cuisine. The newly opened restaurant lives up to its name as it is indeed a paradise for seafood lovers. It’s a straight-to-the-point joint where you can surely indulge in tasty local fare and eat with your hands—something very Cebuano.

It is the first food park-themed restaurant in the country and it features six food stalls:

- Doña Bonita (lechon, rice and poso)

- Pasta de Familia (Filipino-style pasta and vegetable salad)

- Boodle by the Sea (boodle menu of grilled hotdog, chicken, chorizo, chicken intestine, goso, lato, kinilaw, ampalaya salad)

- Seafood Oriental (soup of the day, arroz caldo, fresh fruits, Cebuano delicacies for dessert)

- Seafood ni Juan (oysters, garlic shrimps, creamy garlic scallops, clam soup, steamed crab, ginamos)

- Kusina ni Mattoy (pork humba, adobong pusit, pancit bam-i, inun-unan)

Owners Matt Marvin Cabalquinto, Karl Joshue Encabo, Lorylie Manalili, Jenvie Encabo, Gwendolyn Quiapo, Fred Mosqueda and Mark Lademora envision to showcase Cebu in the form of Seafood Paradise, that’s why they chose to serve authentic Cebuano cuisine. Even if you’re inside the mall, you will feel like you’re having a feast by the beach with its festive food stalls, beach-inspired paintings on its walls and the scenery of South Road Properties’ sea view. A painting of Carcar City’s Rotonda can also be seen at the left side near the entrance to honor the hometown of most of the owners.

Seafood Paradise is located at SM Seaside City Cebu.
