Food makers join National Food Fair 2020

MORE than 40 entrepreneurs in the food industry of Central Luzon are set to join the much-awaited National Food Fair 2020.

The fair is organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP) in partnership with the agency's Regional Operations Group.

The event will be held on March 12-15 at SM Megatrade Halls 1-3, 5th level, Building B, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

Of the 43 food fair participants, 16 entrepreneurs are from Bulacan, ten are from Pampanga, while seven, are from Nueva Ecija.

There are also four participants from Tarlac, and three each from Bataan and Zambales.

Bulacan exhibitors will feature, among others, their turmeric products and Longganisang Calumpit while Pampanga will feature its famous homemade nuts, chocolate brownies and crab paste.

Nueva Ecija entrepreneurs will bring their Kesong Puti and dairy products, fruit jellies, and herbal products while Tarlac micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) are set to display their calamansi drink, garlic paste and peanut based food products.

Bataan MSMEs will again feature their sautéed shrimp paste, dried fish, crab paste, Araro cookies and mushroom chips while Zambales participants will showcase their mango-based products, cashew nuts, vinegar wine and sesame candies.

Also known as the Philippine Cuisine and Ingredients Show, the four-day event will showcase over 280 food entrepreneurs from the regions in the country.

The event will feature processed food, beverages, halal products, cooking ingredients, health and wellness products, as well as the best cuisines across the country.

Another highlight of the fair are onsite cooking demonstrations by featured chefs in the Kusinang Pilipino, some of which will feature well-known cuisine from Central Luzon.

The fair will also feature special settings and pavilions including the Rural Agro-Industrial Partnership for Inclusive Development (RAPID) Growth focusing on cocoa, coffee, processed fruits and nuts, and coconut industries; fresh produce from the Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management Project (INREMP); and the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).

In addition to the KAPEtirya Coffee Pavilion, the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA) will showcase a Halal kitchen in conjunction with the Halal Food Plaza, while the Philippine Island Bar will feature local wines.
