RYAN Mark Molina of STI-West Negros University was re-elected as Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) president during the General Assembly and 40th Foundation Day held Saturday, March 7, at the Chalet.

Molina was unopposed during the election.

“I recalled the first time I joined the NOPSSCEA six years ago, this same foundation day held at Nature’s in Talisay. I myself do not understand why I am there and wondering who these people around me are because I’m not from Negros. A friend invited me to join the assembly and to sit with the Board. Somebody even told me to take the presidency. Yet I refused as I don’t think that was the right time,” he stressed.

Molina, during the assembly, noted some of the organization’s achievements last year which elevated NOPSSCEA during the 38th season and celebrated the breakthroughs and milestones this Season 39.

As NOPSSCEA president, Molina also led the organization as back-to-back champions in the elementary and secondary levels in the Palarong Panlalawigan. Likewise, NOPSSCEA was adjudged back-to-back awardee of the “most organized documents.”

“We develop young athletes through our developmental programs. We are the association run to by some stakeholders to push their interests. And believe me, there are a lot of opportunities for NOPSSCEA. I was telling some close friends, there are a lot of things in stored for NOPSSCEA, too much to do, yet too little time. Two years I would say is not enough for a person with goals and with hearts for NOPSSCEA as there are a lot of things to iron out,” Molina stressed.

“As we look forward to 40 years and more, I have said my prayer to our God to give us more wisdom in our decisions, good health in everything we do and the gift of friendship and unity to push the interest of our NOPSSCEA. NOPSSCEA is not mine nor the Board’s, nor the teachers, nor the parents or nor students. We are NOPSSCEA. And the only way for us to keep the fire burning is to take part in its endeavors. Protect the association because when you hit it, you hit your own self. I wish all of us the best and will see you around,” he concluded. (JSG)
