GOVERNMENT leaders of the Province of Negros Occidental led by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Silay City Mayor Mark Andrew Arthur J. Golez and many others have recognized the value of women in society in rites held at Silay City public plaza in line with the National Women’s Day celebration on March 9, 2020.
The governor expressed how he values and respects the contribution of women both in society and family.
He joined the celebration to share his full support for the causes and welfare of women in general.
Mayor Golez saw the need to create an environment for women to feel safe and loved.
“We need to acknowledge their impact and influence on our lives as well as their contributions to our city,” he said.
He recognized the brilliant, persevering and supportive women of Silay who have contributed so much to the success of the city and said, “Despite the trials and hardships, you remain an inspiration to your parents, children, and your fellow citizens. We celebrate everything that you have done, all your sacrifices and efforts, which we all much appreciated.”
Mrs. Dominique “Nikki” Lopez-Benitez, president of Nikki Cares Foundation, joined the community in honoring all the women in the city.
She desires to continue serving the community through her foundation that mostly helped women in their medical and surgical needs.
Vice Mayor Thomas Maybard Ledesma, Councilor Lyndon Q. Bernardo, Co-Chair of the Gender And Development Focal Points System, Board members Juvy Pepillo and Ryan Gamboa, lawyer Andrea Si, Magna Carta of Women Road Map Chair of the Provincial Council for Women, Marie June Pavillar Castro, staunch women advocate and many others have extended their full support to women causes and were one in celebrating with the women in the community and the nation.
