TWO high-value drug targets were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Sitio IKP Villagonzalo 1, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City on Monday, March 9, 2020.

The suspects were identified as Thomas Cirujano, 31, a resident of Villagonzalo 1, Barangay Tejero, and Reynaldo Ygot Capangpangan, 37, a resident of Barangay Pulpugan, Consolacion, Cebu.

The operation was led by Maj. Joemar Pomarejos, chief of the Waterfront Police Station.

Police seized 1.5 kilos of suspected shabu from Cirujano, while they found a 9mm pistol with four live bullets and the buy-bust money in Capangpangan’s possession.

The estimated value of the seized shabu is P7.4 million.

Pomarejos said Cirujano was also arrested during a drug bust in August 2018 by operatives of Parian Police Station. Capangpangan is allegedly Cirujano’s hitman.

Cirjuano told police that it was his first time to handle a huge quantity of shabu from an unknown source. Capangpangan, who is allegedly a member of the Ygot drug syndicate, denied being Cirujano’s hitman.

He said he was only delivering the gun to Cirujano. (BBT / RSR)
