EIGHT individuals including one minor were arrested March 7 in separate operations by anti–narcotics agents in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) - Mountain Province, Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), the Mountain Province Provincial Mobil Force Command and other operating units arrested four individuals including a minor along the national road at Sitio Park-kil, lower Caluttit, Bontoc in a check point confiscating more than P13 million worth of marijuana.
In a report to the Police Regional Office–Cordillera (PRO-COR), the suspects were identified as Joseph Peltilona, Mark Kevin Guzman, Nini Acio, Princess Gina Guma and a seven year old.
The authorities were conducting a checkpoint intercepted the vehicle of the suspects who allegedly came from Buscalan, Kalinga.
Confiscated from them were 111 pieces of marijuana bricks, 36 pieces of marijuana tube with a total of 109 kilos worth P13,080,000, a .9 mm pistol with two loaded magazines.
In another checkpoint on the same day along the national road at Sitio Lagcangeo, Bontoc Ili, , operatives from the PDEA Mountain Province, Bontoc, PDEU, and other operating units arrested four individuals after confiscating form them 21 pieces marijuana bricks and 7 pieces of marijuana in tubular form amounting to a total of P3,308,400.
The suspects were identified as Jerald Ignacio Escanillas, John Vincent Madrid Santos, Princes Diana Antonio Kling, and Ryan Joe Courpin.
The suspects were riding a brown vehicle coming from Buscalan, Kalinga.
