Anti-drug operations net 3, P1.5-M ‘shabu’

A NEWLY identified and two other drug personalities were arrested while more than P1.5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police said Tuesday, March 10.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, identified the arrested newly identified drug personality as Jumdama Didang, 48. The other two suspects were James Quisel, 26, a construction worker, and Darwin Nazario, 34, a nursing attendant.

Duco said Didang was arrested by the operatives of the ZCPO’s Police Station 11 headed by Police Major Elmer Solon in a buy-bust operation around 10 a.m. Tuesday in Talon-Talon Village.

He said recovered from Didang were some P1.5 million worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and five bills of P1,000 boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill as marked money, and a coin purse.

Duco said Quisel and Nazario were arrested the operatives of the Police Station 10 headed by Police Captain Albin Cabayacruz in another drug bust around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in Tetuan Village.

He said seized from the two were some P10,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 money.

He said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
