No. 6 most wanted in Police Station 1 arrested

THE number six most wanted person in Police Station 1 in Bacolod City was arrested by operatives at the public plaza in Gatuslao Street, Barangay 21, Bacolod City Monday afternoon, March 9.

Arrested was Mitch Alvarez, 37, of Purok Boulevard, Barangay 13.

Police Major Jovil Sedel, chief of Police Station 1, said Tuesday the suspect has an arrest warrant for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002.

The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Eduardo Sayson of Regional Trial Court Branch 54, Bacolod City with service sentence and six months imprisonment for contempt.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1 and they are waiting for the commitment order from the court so they can turn-over the suspect to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Meanwhile, a theft suspect was arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 at Purok Mahimulaton, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Monday.

Police identified the suspect as Jupiter Valenzuela, 19, of Barangay Banago.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspect was arrested after he was caught stealing the beltbag of Jay Cartagena, 31, of Iloilo City, at Purok Mahimulaton, Barangay Banago.

The suspect tried to escape, but he was mobbed by bystanders in the area and was arrested.

Police recovered from Valenzuela’s possession a beltbag containing identification cards, cellular phone, and motorcycle key.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and facing theft charges. (MAP)
