City Food bazaar earns P2 million

THE small-scale entrepreneurs who sold their food products at the mini park of Cagayan de Oro's City Hall have earned more than P2 million during the Chinese Food Festival activity last January 13 to February 26.

The overall total gross sales of the food festival, which was spearheaded by the Livelihood Division of the City Social Welfare and Development Office and participated by 13 small-scale entrepreneurs in the city, reached P2.1 million.

At least 29 companies also became the sub-suppliers for the entrepreneurs.

The Chinese Food Festival also paved the way for new employment as 60 "on-call manpower employment" were generated following the said activity.

The Chinese Food Festival was one of the activities organized by the City Government to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

It is also the under the government's livelihood program to provide opportunities to small-scale entrepreneurs in selling their goods such as delicacies, snacks, and other local food products.
