COVID-19 has driven some people to regard more seriously the thought that the world could be in apocalyptic days. Those who often access YouTube channels featuring videos of unusual events in various parts of the world would have come to this feeling years ago, at least upon the ascent of the millennium.
On Twitter, an intelligent former entertainer commented to me that the world hasn't changed much and that the only reason why the world seems to be more upset nowadays is that we have more technology to detect the abnormal and the means to readily spread data. Surely, she missed out on scientists who are themselves perplexed that historically, the number of both earthquakes and volcanic eruptions in recent times has become unprecedented; that weather has taken aberrant patterns; that UFOs exist and seem to be more daring in their manifestations; that trumpets and drums are sounding off mysteriously from the skies, etc.
Again, I ask readers to access YouTube channels with such titles as "signs of the end" or "end of days," which will open up other channels of similar content; they are compilations of raw video footages of events telling us this world has gone peculiar. The titles seem to be too ominous, so may I add that in recent Marian apparitions, any reference to our days never implied the end of the world, but the end of a certain era.
I must quote my favorite Catholic writer Michael Brown on this, in his website spiritdaily.com, on how bizarre our world has turned into.
Notes Brown: "There are extremes. There are extremes of warmth and cold. The thermometer at times swings wildly. It is unseasonably warm one day, frigid the next. There are homes along Lake Erie covered with ice from giant waves. At the same time, the lake itself - rather freakishly - went this winter without an ice cover. There are quakes - in peculiar places such as Oklahoma and Puerto Rico: some small, some not so small. A "hurricane" hits the UK. There are volcanoes that for now only threaten."
"Big things are coming. We increasingly see threats that have grown in size. The markets plunge. An era of false prosperity, of fake money, will either now or soon end. North Korea and its nukes. Russia with its cyber-spies. China with its plague. Consider the many very dangerous storms that looked like they would cause fantastic destruction in the U.S. but then counterintuitively - against computer models - changed direction or collapsed in intensity. Hurricane Michael hit relatively sparsely populated areas. Hurricane Dorian destroyed an island in the Bahamas instead of far more populous southeastern Florida. Wildfires and mudslides halt just before causing an apocalypse in Malibu or L.A. itself," he notes.
And Brown makes an emphatic statement: "We appear to be in the warning, waning stages of a great Mercy."
He adds: "Matters are coming together in accordance with less dramatic but more powerful prophecies."
Again, I invite readers to draw from the Medjugorje messages of the Blessed Virgin in these times of tribulation that, if prophecies are not mitigated by conversions, are headed towards a more trying future.

Also to Marija on February 25th, 2020: "Dear children! In this time of grace, I desire to see your faces transformed in prayer. You are so flooded by earthly concerns, you do not even feel that spring is at the threshold. You are called, little children, to penance and prayer. As nature fights in silence for new life, also you are called to open yourselves in prayer to God, in Whom you will find peace and warmth of the spring sun in your hearts. Thank you for having responded to my call."
