LGU orders establishments to provide rubbing alcohols

ALL establishments in Macabebe town are required to provide free disinfectant rubbing alcohol to their clientele as protection against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

In a special session held Tuesday, March 10, via video conferencing, the Municipal Council passed Ordinance 6, Series of 2019 to 22, which orders all establishments to put disinfecting alcohol in strategic places for easy access to public.

The ordinance covers supermarkets, shopping centers, sari-sari stores, public transport terminals, all types of food establishments, banks and other financial institutions, and clinics, gasoline and car service stations, cockpits and lotto outlets, schools, resorts and event centers, churches and place of worships and government offices.

A label such as "free rubbing alcohol" must also be put on the product to properly guide their clients and consumers.

Based on the ordinance, the order will stand until a vaccine against Covid-19 is available in the market and even further to prevent the spread of contagious disease in the municipality.

Those who will be found not complying with the ordinance shall face fines of P1,000, P1,500, P2,000 and P2,500 and cancellation of business permit as noted in the ordinance.
