P180,400 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P180,400 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City Thursday evening, March 12.

The operations led to the arrest of Emelou Costelo, 29, of Barangay Singcang-Airport, Rederic Cordero, 40, of Barangay 3; Sky Inventor, 19, of Barangay 35, and Rodelio Martillano Jr., 23, of Barangay 14.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Costelo and Cordero were arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 led by Major Charles Gever after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at Green Plains 2, Barangay Singcang-Airport at 11:15 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession ten sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams with estimated market value of P170,000, P1,000 marked money, and Mitsubishi vehicle.

Inventor and Martillano were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 led by Major Jovil Sedel at Gonzaga- Bonifacio streets, Barangay 12 at about 11 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession eight sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P10, 400, the P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1 and 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.(MAP)
