ABS-CBN temporarily stops live entertainment shows, production of ‘Teleseryes’

MEDIA and entertainment network ABS-CBN has decided to temporarily stop the staging of its live entertainment shows as well as production of its “teleseryes” beginning Sunday, March 15, as stated in a post on Twitter released on March 13 in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, characterized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a pandemic.

According to the statement, the temporary suspension is in compliance with the government’s declaration of a community quarantine and ban on mass gatherings as a way to contain the spread of the disease for the safety of its artists, crew, families and the public.

“We assure the public that ABS-CBN will continue to bring the latest news and information through our TV and radio newscasts and digital platforms, especially at this time when the country is facing a public health crisis,” read the statement.

Despite the precautionary measures, the network will still keep its fans entertainment by bringing back its well-loved shows. / MRL with PR
