Miraflores to meet Panay governors for common quarantine policy

KALIBO, Aklan -- Governor Florencio Miraflores said he is planning to have a meeting with the three other governors in Panay to come up with a common quarantine policy.

In a press conference at the Capitol Sunday afternoon, March 15, Miraflores said that he will meet each governors this week.

Earlier, both the Iloilo and Antique governors come up with each executive orders (EO) prohibiting the entry and exit of all their residents due to the Coronavirus 2019 scare.

Miraflores has come up with an EO only restricting those who will be entering Aklan through air and sea.

The Panay Island is composed of the surrounding provinces of Iloilo, Aklan, Capiz, Antique including Guimaras Island.

"We want to specifically made an appeal to our governors to allow their constituents to come and visit Boracay this vacation," he said.

"If they refused to do so, we will have no option but to bar entry of Ilongos in the province in one month," he said.

Currently, the Panay Island and the Guimaras province are still Covid-19 free.
