2020 Lopue’s Open canceled

THE increase in numbers of those affected by Covid-19 has forced the National Capital Region and other local government units in the country to call for a community quarantine.

Likewise, President Rodrigo Duterte has declared the suspension of land, domestic air, and domestic sea travel to and from Metro Manila from March 15 to April 14, 2020.

This has forced the organizers to cancel the 2020 Lopue's Open table tennis tournament which was earlier scheduled from March 20-22.

“Metro Manila is under community quarantine thus, we are canceling the tournament,” said one of the organizers Marrel Lagunday.

“We had no choice but to take this step. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause,” she added.

Despite this unfortunate happening, the Lopue’s Table Tennis Association thanked everyone for the support and stressed their continuous commitment to the endeavor.
