Vice presidential debate held (4:27 a.m.)

SIX vice presidential candidates for May 2010 polls attended Sunday a televised debate at La Consolacion College in Manila.

Six candidates participated in the Harapan: The Vice Presidential Debate, which was broadcast live on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), were Jejomar Binay of the PDP-Laban, Bayani Fernando of Bagumbayan-Volunteers for a New Philippines, Loren Legarda of the Nationalist People's Coalition, Manuel “Mar” Roxas III of the Liberal Party, Jay Sonza of Kilusang Bagong Lipunan, and Perfecto Yasay of Bangon Pilipinas.

Only Lakas-Kampi-CMD vice presidential bet Edu Manzano who was not present in the said debate.

The said debate allowed each candidate to express views on issues linked against them and answered questions through a one-on-one face off against rivals.

The audience were a random-selected citizens from Metro Manila, Cebu, Naga City and Davao who were given the chance to express views through a Wireless Audience Response System (Wars).

Wars is a device which the audience can press two buttons: one button means they believe that the candidate gave a truthful answer; the other means they believe the candidate did not give a truthful answer. (Sunnex)
