Masantol implements measures vs Covid-19

MASANTOL Mayor Danilo Guintu has ordered the implementation of preventive measures to combat the entry of dreaded coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the community.

Guintu called for an emergency meeting over the weekend to discuss with local and barangay officials, and other government personnel who will serve as frontliners in the implementation of the safety and security procedures.

Prior to the meeting, Guintu already issued an executive order that will serve as a guideline for the implementation of measures, which will be spearheaded by the local police.

Particularly, Guintu prohibited the conduct of social gatherings and public events as compliance to the social distancing recommended by the Department of Health.

The public is also advised to stay inside their houses and refrain from going to crowded places if not necessary.

Moreover, Guintu also ordered the suspension of cockpit games and other similar activities that require convergence of people.

A municipal-wide disinfection and misting, especially in public places such as government offices, transport terminals, churches and covered courts has been done as protection to public.

Guintu enjoined residents to cooperate while all preventive measures that are being implemented to ensure the containment of the deadly disease.

"We are conducting all these procedures for the safety of everybody. We ask everybody to stay at home while Covid-19 is still active," he said.
