P1.9-M shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P1.9 million worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust conducted by operatives of Police Station 2 in City Ville Subdivision, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City Sunday evening, March 15.

The operation, led by Major Sherlock Gabana, also led to the arrest of Mark Sy, 20, of Purok Masagana, Barangay 6, Bacolod.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 7:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Sy’s possession 10 sachets and five ice wrapper plastics of shabu weighing 240 grams with estimated market value of P1,920,000, P2,000 marked money, and caliber .357 revolver.

Pico said Sy was identified as high value target in Bacolod and was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect was detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Dugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man was also arrested in a drug bust by operatives of BCPO-Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok Paraiso, Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Monday morning.

Police identified the suspect as Renegade Edianel, of Barangay Banago.

Pico said Edianel, who was identified as high-value target in Bacolod, was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 1:10 a.m.

Police recovered from Edianel’s possession 12 sachets of shabu weighing six grams with estimated market value of P34,000 and the P500 marked money.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
