TO ENSURE that health workers and patients in Pampanga's district hospitals are protected from coronavirus disease (Covid-19), Apalit town started donating disinfecting alcohol to health facilities across Pampanga on Monday, March 16.

Mayor Oscar Tetangco said 1,000 liters of 70 percent ethyl alcohol will be distributed to the 11 district hospitals in the province.

"We wanted to ensure that our district hospitals will not run out of disinfecting alcohol in this time when they need it the most. This is our way of protecting the people who protect us from Covid-19," he said.

Tetangco said the municipality is set to provide additional gallons if needed as he already talked to manufacturing plants in this town which assured supply of the ethyl alcohol.

Aside from district hospitals, the municipality also donated 7,000 liters of disinfecting solution to various towns such as Masantol, Samal in Bataan and Barangay Sto. Nino in San Simon.

Tetangco said the donation of alcohol is the municipality's humanitarian way of extending a helping hand to fellow Filipinos amid the crisis being faced by the country today.

"We have the supply and we were already able to provide to our constituents here so why not share it to others. This is the time when we need to exercise bayanihan the most," he said.
