A LOCAL restaurant in Davao City is organizing a “food raising” to help our health care frontliners, including the military and police personnel who are manning at checkpoints, with their food needs.
Chef Darence Patrick Co, owner and founder of Fat Cow Restaurant, said doctors, nurses, and even police authorities need this activity more than anyone else considering that they could not leave their post even during mealtime because they are vitally needed especially during these times of Covid-19 pandemic.
“They have to be healthy also to function well in containing Covid-19,” Co said.
With this, he is calling for donations of rice, canned goods, any farm produce, cash (to buy ingredients), any source of proteins such as chicken, pork, beef, fish, etc.
“We are aiming to serve around 300 to 500 packs of meal everyday and the more the better if we have the right resources, and we also aim to run this activity as long as the supply is sufficient. We will not stop as long as there will be those who are willing to donate,” he said.
Co said the food will be delivered every dinner time around 5 to 6 p.m. to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).
Donations of goods can be delivered to the restaurant in V. Mapa St., Davao City between 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
